Short Text:
Exit Type HSC, ‘High School Completion', was submitted, but Grade Level Placement is not 12.
Long Text:
Exit Type HSC, ‘High School Completion', was submitted, but Grade Level Placement is not 12. Review the Exit Type and/or Grade Level Placement.
How to Fix:
Verify whether or not the student indeed graduated from twelfth grade. If so, update the Grade Level Placement value to 12.
If the student was not in twelfth grade but rather completed all graduation requirements as an 11th grader, then verify that the exit date is the last day the student received services. You may then acknowledge warning 6498. If the student did not meet graduation requirements, then change the HSC to an appropriate exit type.
REMINDERS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS: If the student has an IEP, then the sSEPA end date and enrollment exit date should match. If the special education student will continue to receive services in the following year, then the HSC exit type should not be used or funding could be jeopardized.
Example:
Tia Torvas's record displays a warning that she completed high school but was not in twelfth grade. District Deb researches the matter to find that Tia was in eleventh grade and completed all requirements, thus is an early graduate. Deb verifies that the enrollment exit date is the date that Tia last received services, and then she acknowledges the warning.
Business Rule Logic:
Exit type = HSC AND Grade level <> 12
Calculation:
Exit Type = High School Completion AND Grade Level= anything other than 12.
