Validation Warning 6574
KBA-01212-S4M3N2
Summary

Short Text: Exit Type ETC (Expected transfer/promotion to a new school covered by WISEdata. Not known to be continuing.) is invalid for student now known to be continuing in a private school as a non-Choice student or in home schooling.

Long Text: Expected Transfer exit type invalid for student now known to be continuing in a private school as a private-paying student.

How to Fix: Check if the student transferred out of your school, and, if so, verify whether or not the student is now enrolled in a private school. If the student is now enrolled as a private-paying student at a private school, not a Choice school, then remove the invalid exit type of expected transfer (ETC) and enter an exit type that reflects the student transferred to a school not covered by WISEdata (TNC).

Example: District Deb notices an error on Justin’s record that he has an invalid exit type. Deb looks into the situation and sees that Justin transferred from Industrial Middle School to Victorian, a private school nearby. Because Victorian isn’t a school submitting information to WISEdata, they can’t be entered as an expected transfer school with the ETC exit type. Deb removes the invalid exit type and enters TNC to show Justin did transfer but is continuing in a private school not covered by WISEdata.

Business Rules:

Logic--(1) This error is thrown for the submitting school, not the expected transfer school or system. This rule is only for CHOICE schools. (2) This rule catches the scenario (a) all students regardless of disability where (b) submitting agency expected transfer, but (c) expected transfer agency has evidence of transfer to a school not covered by the WISEdata. (3) This rule shall run for Possible Full-Term Dropouts.
