Validation Error 6719
KBA-01340-T1C8D5
Summary

Error 6719

  • Short Text: Exit type 'Transfer to another school covered by WISEdata; known to be continuing' (TC) should be used, as DPI has evidence of subsequent enrollment.

  • Long Text: Exit type 'Transfer to another school covered by WISEdata; known to be continuing' (TC) should be used, as DPI has evidence of subsequent enrollment. This student has a more recent WISEdata enrollment period, but the exit withdrawal type submitted as some value, known to be continuing, other than TC. The exit withdrawal type should be submitted as TC.

  • How to Fix: You’re receiving this error because you initially submitted this student with an Exit Type of PCC, TNC, TOS, or INM, but the student has been associated with a new enrollment in WISEdata since his or her exit from your school/district. DPI has evidence that the student has subsequently enrolled in another WI school reporting to WISEdata and should have an Exit Type to reflect the continuation. You need to go back in to your SIS and change the student’s Exit Type to TC to show the student transferred to another school reporting to WISEdata.

  • If you want to verify exit to a Choice school, the Private School Directory allows you to search the database for Choice schools.  Choice schools are the only private schools that submit enrollments to WISEdata. The directory is located: https://apps4.dpi.wi.gov/SchoolDirectory/Search/PrivateSchoolsSearch

  • Example: Hunter’s record displays a warning that he needs a new Exit Type because DPI has evidence of a new enrollment for him. District Deb checks into the situation and sees that Hunter was exited March 13 with an exit code of TNC. Since then, their school received a records request from Wonder Middle School, another school in Wisconsin. Because Deb has proof that Hunter transferred and is continuing schooling in another WISEdata-covered school, she changes his former Exit Type to TC.

  • Business Rule Logic:

    • Throws on Submitting school SSA if:
      • (exit type exists and is NOT: TC or DE or BCA or CE) - OR -
      • (Exit Date is not NULL) - AND -
      • Primary or PPP subsequent enrollment exists in current SY - OR - until TFS of next school year.
      • Check for primary enrollment and active WISEid only.
    • NOTE: BCA is the only valid exit type for students under age 6.

    • V3 of this rule: 6719 should not run when BCA is given and subsequent enrollment exists.
