Validation Warning 6751
KBA-01437-C9L5S2
Summary
Short Text: No Discipline records have been submitted for this school (for the school year in context) that are required to be submitted to Wisconsin DPI. Drill-down to see the 'long text' of this message for more details.

Long Text: No Discipline records have been reported for this school for this school year. It is important for discipline to be reported to WISEdata correctly, as it is reported to the US Dept of Ed via EdFacts and is required as part of the Gun-Free Schools Act. If there is discipline data to report for this school submit the information to WISEdata. If the school does not, in fact, have discipline data to report then acknowledge this warning.
NOTEFailure to acknowledge the warning may result in the school reporting to the US Dept of Ed as not fulfilling the reporting requirements of the Gun-Free Schools Act. Read this FAQ document to answer questions about discipline data reporting. For further assistance, please open a Help Ticket

How to Fix: This warning displays if WISEdata cannot locate any Discipline data at all for your school in the current school year.
  • Review the school year's data to see if there is Discipline data in your SIS that was not sent to WISEdata. If so, push the Discipline records to WISEdata, working with your SIS vendor as needed to accomplish this task.
  • If your school did NOT have any Discipline Incidents and Behaviors that resulted in a removal action, then you do not need to take any action. Simply acknowledge the warning.
  • Schools MUST acknowledge this warning, as doing so satisfies their requirement to submit the Gun Free School Act (GFSA) report to DPI each year.

Example: District Deb receives a warning that she didn't submit any Discipline records for Honeycomb High School this school year. She checks all the data from the year, reviewing a downloaded Discipline export to be sure, and finds that there were no Discipline incidents resulting in removals that need to be reported to DPI. She acknowledges the warning.

Business Rule Logic: Throw if the entire series of discipline Incident, discipline Action and student Discipline Incident Association are not submitted even for a single student through out the school in the school year. If the rule is reading 17-18 data then warning should appear under 17-18 school year but warning should start showing up on 07/01/2018 ( 18-19 school year). So "Run delay" on this rule would be a whole year.
