Validation Warning 6711 |
KBA-01476-D3R0K1 |
Summary |
Short Text: The current grade level is lower than the previous grade level in the same school year.
Long Text: The grade level of current primary enrollment record is lower than a previous primary enrollment record for the same school year. The previous enrollment may be from a different district. This warning is intended to flag potential issues with grade progression. If the student's grade levels are accurate, you may acknowledge the warning. If not, please review and update the enrollment record in your SIS.
NOTE: This rule does not apply if either the current or previous enrollment has a grade level of PK, as PK is not considered part of instructional grade progression.
How to Fix: This warning alerts you to a potential issue with a student's grade level. In this case, WISEdata has detected the student's current enrollment record houses a lower grade level value than in the last enrollment record, even though it's in the same school year. Because it would be unlikely for a student to regress to a prior grade level, especially mid-school year, verify the student's current and prior grade levels.
Example: Jody's record displays a warning that her grade level is lower than her previous enrollment in the same school year. District Deb checks into the situation and learns that Jody was enrolled as a seventh grader, even though her enrollment at the school from which she transferred shows she was an eighth grader. Deb knows it's common for a student to repeat a grade but not as typical to go back another grade level, especially during the year. She discovers that Jody's grade level was accidentally input as 07 but should be 08. Deb modifies Jody's grade level to 08 to reflect her current eighth grade status.
Business Rule Logic: Throw the warning on the most recent primary enrollment if:
