Validation Error 6800
KBA-01503-S4V7L7
Summary
Short Text:  Invalid IAC code and Cluster Title combination on CTE concentrator summary.

Long Text: Invalid IAC code and Cluster Title combination on CTE concentrator summary. Correct the error by mapping the right IAC code to the Cluster Title. Refer to the IAC code to Cluster mapping document on the IAC code type data element webpage.

How to Fix: This validation lets you know that there is a mismatch between the IAC Code submitted for the student and the cluster value submitted. The IAC Code should align with the corresponding cluster when you submit CTE Concentrator data.
To compare the IAC codes and clusters you have submitted, follow these steps:
  1. Open the WISEdata Portal.
  2. Under the Agency menu, click Exports.
  3. On the Exports screen, set the filters according to the data you want to check (all high schools in the district or one specific school; present or previous school year, etc.)
  4. In the Collection filter's dropdown, select Career Education.
  5. In the list of exports, find the Career Concentrators export.
  6. Select Download.
  7. Compare the values in the columns "CTE Concentration IAC Code" and "CTE Concentration Program Area" in your export with the columns "IAC code" and "Cluster" in the DPI - IAC to Cluster List.

Example: Billy's record is throwing an error that he has an invalid combination for IAC Code Type and his submitted cluster. District Deb knows when sending in CTE Concentrator data, the student's IAC Code should match the type of cluster in which he or she's participating. Deb reviews the IAC Code mapping document on the IAC Code Type data element page and find the correct code to use, ensuring it matching the cluster. She enters the valid IAC Code Type in her SIS and pushes to WISEdata to clear the issue.

Business Rule Logic: Throw for Public LEAs. Throw if:
CIP code and Career Pathway Type combination on Student CTE Program Association (sCTEPA) does not match with IAC code to cluster mapping in ODS, AND
student grade is 11 or 12 on any of the primary enrollments.

NOTE: Primary school submits student concentrator details even if most CTE courses are taken at a non-primary school.
