Short Text: The CTE concentrator summary or Certified / non certified program for a student has been submitted by a school that is not the primary enrollment.

Long Text: The CTE concentrator summary or Certified / non certified program for a student has been submitted by a school that is not the primary enrollment. To fix the error review the students’ details in WISEdata Portal. Look at Enrollments and what “school” is being reported as the primary Enrollment Type.

NOTE: Error 7164, applies to data from the 2021-22 school year and prior school years. Starting with the 2022-23 school year, Error 7164 has been replaced with Error 7146.

These L2s are very similar - they will throw when a student associated with a certified/certificated CE Program type sufficiently attempts a class. However, 7146 ‘upgrades’ the Logic to ensure there is also a certificated Program status indicator included.

How to Fix: This error appears if a CTE concentrator summary or Certified / non certified program was submitted by a school that is different from the primary Enrollment Type shown in WISEdata Portal, Enrollments.

The students’ primary enrollment is associated with a specific school within the district. CTE concentrator summaries and program data should be entered based on the students’ primary school of enrollment, not the school or entity that posts the grades, or the school that employs the teacher.

This data is calculated based on the students’ primary school of enrollment. Thus, data is entered by the students primary school of enrollment.

To fix the issue:

  1. Review the students’ details in WISEdata Portal.

  2. Look at Enrollments and what “school” is being reported as the primary Enrollment Type

  3. Scroll down to “Programs” and open Career Education.

  4. Look for the record with the envelope icon indicating the error.

  5. On the far right of the screen, the field called “Submitting School,” should match the “School” in Enrollments.

  6. This error appears when the Submitting School in Career Education is different than the School under Enrollments.

    1. The Submitting School for the CTE concentrator summary or CTE program, should be the same school as the primary Enrollment Type.

  7. Enter the CTE concentrator summary or Certified / non certified program in the correct school and entity, as their primary enrollment.

Example: District Deb sees an error that a CTE concentrator summary has been submitted for Jamie, a student whose primary enrollment is at school B within the district. She reviews Jamie’s student details in WISEdata Portal. Jamie’s Enrollment data shows school B in WISEdata Portal. Next, Deb scrolls down to Programs and opens Career Education to find the error and what submitting school sent the data. Deb sees that the submitting school was school A and this does not match Jamie’s primary enrollment school. Deb enters the data into Jamie’s correct primary enrollment, school B. Deb also follows the directions from the SIS vendor to delete the data for Jamie from school A. Deb collaborates with other district personnel to organize strategies and procedures to add CTE concentrator summary or Certified / non certified program based on the students’ primary school of attendance within the district.

Technical Details:

Business Rule Logic: Throw the error on /SCTEPA (student CTE program association) if Submitting school enrollment type = Non Primary and submitting school does not have Primary enrollment AND /SCTEPA is submitted.

NOTE: CE certified and non-certified student program or CTE summary are not expected from non-primary enrollment. If the submitting school has both Primary and Non Primary then we do not throw the error, because we assume /SCTEPA is submitted for primary, so the primary enrollment will override the non-primary enrollment.
