Validation Warning 7140

Message: Unexpected Educational Environment Setting for the public district. Educational Environment Setting was provided as a Residential Facility, B3, F or  B2, D but the student is submitted by some district other than a CCDEB or State School. If a resident student is attending a CCDEB or State School, then that student must be submitted to WISEdata by the CCDEB or State School. If the student is attending another resident or separate school, then acknowledge the warning.

How to Fix: First verify the student actually attends a residential facility as documented, such as a CCDEB or one of the State schools. If the student is attending a CCDEB or one of the State schools, then that CCDEB or State school needs to submit the student’s info to WISEdata rather than the public school/district. If the student is attending a different resident or separate school, simply maintain the Educational Environment code, ensuring it's the correct code, and acknowledge the warning.

Example: Sam’s record displays an error that he has an unexpected Educational Environment code for a public district. District Deb digs into the matter and finds that Sam is a ten year old attending the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Deb knows that WCBVI should be submitting data for Sam and removes the unexpected Educational Environment code. Then she contacts WCBVI to notify them to report on Sam’s data.
