Short Text: Missing program 'Secondary Level World Language Program' in one or more grades from 7 to 12
Long Text: No courses associated with the program type ‘World Language’ are submitted for one or more grade levels from 7 to 12 by this school. A WL Program must be offered in each of the grade levels and one or more are missing. Courses associated with the program type ‘World Language’ and program name ‘Secondary Level World Language Program’ are expected.
How to Fix: This error throws for schools that teach grades 7-12, which are expected to offer World Language programs under the program name "Secondary Level World Language" (SLWL) to their students in grades 7-12. To fix, make sure that your school is using the code SLWL to represent secondary-level world language programs. Also, ensure that you have the correct grade levels of students enrolled in the courses entered (i.e., a 6th grade student may not enroll in an WL-SLWL course).
NOTE: Alternative schools, Virtual schools, and ALL Charter Schools can ignore this Error.
Example: Teacher Nancy teaches Spanish at Elon Musk Middle School which teaches 6th, 7th & 8th-grade students. Wisconsin State Statutes require access to world language education beginning in grade 7, continuing through each grade through grade 12. She received error 7193, indicating that her school was not offering courses associated with the ‘World Language’ program, specifically with the program name ‘Secondary Level World Language’ (SLWL). Teacher Nancy checks the code for her course offerings to grades 7 and 8 on her SIS, knowing that her middle school offers secondary level world language courses, like Spanish-II and French-II. She sees that the program name ‘SLWL’ has 6th grade middle school students enrolled. Teacher Nancy updates her enrollments by removing the 6th grade students from the SLWL program name, thus clearing the error.
