Short Text: Dual Enrollment Associated with an AP or IB Course
Long Text: Dual Enrollment cannot be associated with AP or IB courses. Even if a district submits a Dual Enrollment program association with an AP or IB course, the Office of Educational Accountability (OEA) does not include that course in the Dual Enrollment counts and percentages.
How to Fix: Dual Enrollment is associated with the Early College Credit Program, meaning that Dual Enrollment is associated with college credits earned by high school students taking classes at institutions of higher learning, not college credits earned through advanced placement (AP) or international baccalaureate (IB) classes taken within a high school setting. Therefore, AP and IB courses cannot be associated with a Dual Enrollment program. AP and IB courses, by definition , are not Dual Enrollment courses. To fix, disassociate all AP and IB classes from the Dual Enrollment category in your SIS.
Example: School Staff Member Steph receives Error 7441, indicating that her AP art history class is associated with the Dual Enrollment program in her high school’s SIS. Teacher Steph is a teacher who is qualified for and approved to teach Dual Enrollment Courses, however, she is aware of the accountability rules from the Office of Educational Accountability (OEA) that disallows AP courses to simultaneously also be Dual Enrollment courses. Staff Member Steph corrects the association of her AP art history class with the Dual Enrollment program in her SIS, clearing the error.

Business Rule Logic: Throw this rule on a /section when the section or a student section has a Dual Enrollment program and the course is AP, IB Diploma Programme (DiplProg, descriptorId 2092), or IB Career Related Programme (IB-Career, descriptorID 2094).
