Warning 7459: “The student-level learning modality doesn't match the school-level modality”
Short Text: The student-level learning modality submitted to WISEdata Portal doesn't match the school-level learning modality entered in the WISEgrants application.
Long Text: The student-level learning modality submitted doesn't match the school-level modality. In the WISEgrants Application, LEAs must indicate which learning modalities (In-person, Virtual, or Hybrid) the school is offering and to whom it's offered (all students, some students, or none). In WISEdata Portal, LEAs should submit a student program association record detailing what modality each student is in (In-person, Remote, or Hybrid).
When a learning modality program type is not present for a student in WISEdata Portal, then it is assumed that the student is in the default learning modality for the school. However, when the submitted student-level learning modality in WISEdata contradicts the school-level modality in WISEgrants, LEAs must verify the student-level learning modality to ensure it matches the school-level learning modality. To correct this warning, verify the learning modality program type in your SIS and the school-level modality in WISEgrants, and then resubmit the record to WISEdata as appropriate.
How to Fix: This warning displays when there is a learning modality mismatch between the school level and the student level information. To correct this warning, verify the learning modality program type in your SIS and the school-level modality in WISEgrants, and then resubmit the record to WISEdata as appropriate.
NOTE: Due to the timing of overnight processing jobs, it may take up to two days for updates in WISEgrants to resolve validations in WISEdata.
Example: Harriet Tubman Middle School is conducting learning in-person for the entire school during the 2022-23 school year, and it offers Remote learning when students are home for quarantine reasons. This school, however, does not offer a hybrid learning modality. District Deb gets warning 7459 and sees it is connected to a student who attends Harriet Tubman Middle School. The student is associated with a Hybrid learning modality, which is not offered at this school. Deb changes the learning modality of the student to ‘Remote’ because the student is currently home on quarantine, resolving the error. Deb will change the student’s modality to ‘In Person’ once the student’s quarantine period is complete.
