Short Text: For students attending a public a school district, the District of Residence is set to an invalid type of district or a district that is not open in the school year.
Long Text: For students attending a public a school district, the District of Residence is set to an invalid type of district or a district that is not open in the school year. It must be set to a public school district that is open in the school year. Invalid types of districts include non-district independent charter schools, charter management organizations, County Children with Educational Disabilities Boards (CCDEB), State institutions (Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Wisconsin School for the Deaf, Wisconsin School for the Blind), or private school.
NOTE: Error 7466 is replacing Error 6628 for the 2023-24 school year going forward due to a significant change in logic and some residency data element changes.
How to Fix: Verify the student’s resident district as well as whether or not the student attends a state school or CCDEB. If the student in question does attend one of the state schools or a CCDEB, then the student cannot have that location or DOC or DHS listed as the resident district. Remove the invalid Resident District value and replace it with the student’s home address district as the resident district.
Example: District Deb sees an error on Alex’s record that he has an invalid resident district listed. Deb checks to see where Alex lives and what school he attends. She finds that his family residence and resident district is Elm, but he attends the WCBVI. Deb sees WCBVI is currently identified as the resident district but knows they can’t be the resident district, even if they submit data. To clear the error, she removes the current value and completes the Resident District field with the Elm district.

The LEA of SSA is a public school district (Agency Type 03)
AND
ResidencyPeriod is submitted AND Resident LEA reference is not Null
AND
(District Agency Type of Residency LEA) is NOT Agency Type 03 (Public School District)
OR
(District Agency Type of Residency LEA) is Agency Type 03 (Public School District)
AND
(Residency LEA is not open for the school year)
