Validation Error 7469

Short Text: Incomplete Exit Information. Required fields are missing, "Exit Type," "Exit Date," or "Next Grade Level."
 
Long Text: Incomplete Exit information for an enrollment. One or more required fields are missing. Depending on the enrollment type, "Exit Type", "Exit Date", or "Next Grade Level" is missing from the enrollment record.
 
How to Fix:
If the student left your school:
Enter an Exit Date, Exit Type, and Next Grade Level.
 
If the student did not exit your school:
Clear these fields.
 

Exit Type Example:
Sarai attended school as an 11th grader for the 2025-26 school year until her family moved away on May 1, 2026. The school year is not yet over. District Deb entered May 1 in Sarai's record as her exit date and grade 11 as her next grade level but did not enter an exit type. Now Deb is receiving an error that Sarai's exit information is incomplete. Deb needs to enter an exit type, such as TC, to clear the error. 
 
Exit Date Example:
Sarai attended school as an 11th grader for the 2025-26 school year until her family moved away on May 1, 2026. The school year is not yet over. District Deb entered TC in Sarai's record as her exit type and grade 11 as her next grade level but did not enter an exit date. Now Deb is receiving an error that Sarai's exit information is incomplete. Deb enters Sarai's exit date (May 1, 2026) to clear the error. 

Next Grade Level Example:
Student leaves mid-school year:
Sarai attended school for the 2025-26 school year as an 11th grader until her family moved away on May 1, 2026. The school year is not yet over. District Deb entered TC in Sarai's record as her exit type and May 1 as her exit date but did not enter the next grade level Sarai will enter. Now Deb is receiving an error that Sarai's exit information is incomplete. Since the school year is not yet over and Sarai is in 11th grade, Deb enters grade 11 as her next grade level.

Student leaves after completing school year:
Sarai attended school for the 2025-26 school year as an 11th grader until her family moved away on July 1, 2026. Sarai completed 11th grade. District Deb entered TC in Sarai's record as her exit type and July 1 as her exit date but did not enter the next grade level Sarai will enter. Now Deb is receiving an error that Sarai's exit information is incomplete. Since the school year is over and Sarai successfully completed 11th grade, Deb enters grade 12 as her next grade level.

Technical Details: 
Business Rule Logic for 2025-26 SY and forward:
Throw on SSA, when Exit Date is not NULL, AND Exit Type is NULL (Check for valid primary enrollment.),
OR
Exit Date is NULL, AND Exit Type is not NULL,
OR
NextYearGradeLevelDescriptor is Null and Exit Type = ETC or TC.

Business Rule Logic for 2024-25 SY and prior:
Throw on SSA. Exit Date is not NULL and Exit Type is NULL. Check for valid enrollment.
