Short Text: A student has a “WBL”, “IRC”, or “Dual” (enrollment) designation.

Long Text: A specific student has a “WBL, “IRC”, or “Dual” (enrollment) designation on the student section association. Specific students should be associated to courses and sections. Those courses and sections should be set up as “WBL”, “Dual”, or “IRC” and the specific students should not have “WBL” or “Dual” descriptions. If a specific student is attempting to obtain an Industry Recognized Credential, an IRC can be used on StudentCTEProgramAssociation to describe the student.

How to Fix: A designation of Work-Based Learning (WBL), Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC), or Dual Enrollment has been attached to a specific student on the student section association resource, where those designations are expected to be specific to courses or sections in which students are enrolled, or to a student’s CTE record. Please review where the Dual Enrollment, IRC, or WBL is assigned and ensure it is at the course or section level for WBL or Dual Enrollment. A course or section can be IRC if an opportunity to earn an IRC is offered to students within the course or section. If that same section or course is also WBL or Dual, use IRC instead on individual students' Student CTE Program Associations. A student enrolled in a WBL or Dual Enrollment course or section can have an IRC attempt reported on their student CTE program association.

This error refers to career education data elements of dual enrollment, IRC, and WBL. Schools should set up courses to report as one of these data elements, then schedule students into the courses.

  1. Select the primary focus of the course: dual enrollment, IRC, or WBL.
  2. Then, select the data element within the course setup.
  3. Schedule students into the course.
  4. For more information on how to use your student information system (SIS), contact the vendor. Each SIS also has career education guides that show how to enter this data.

Technical Details:

  • Business Rule Logic: Throw on StudentSectionAssociation when 'WBL', 'IRC', OR 'Dual' programTypeDescriptors are used.
  • Technical Fix: For 25/26 SY, ProgramTypeDescriptors for Work-Based Learning (WBL), Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC), and Dual Enrollment (Dual) should not be submitted on StudentSectionAssociation resource. Instead, "IRC", "WBL", and/or "Dual" should be reported on the Section resource. Remove the "IRC", "WBL", and/or "Dual" designation on StudentSectionAssociation and resubmit on Section.
