Subject: WISEstaff is Open for 2025-2026

The WISEstaff data collection is now open. The WISEstaff Reference Guide for Administrators explains why we collect this data and how it helps District Administrators meet their State and Federal staff and licensing reporting requirements. It also includes a list of tasks that Administrators should complete for this collection.

Action Needed: Update WISEstaff Contacts

If there have been personnel changes since the 2024-2025 school year and another person will be responsible for completing the WISEstaff collection, be sure to have the WISEstaff Application Administrator grant that person access to WISEstaff through the WISEsecure application in WISEhomeNew WISEstaff contacts need to be identified in the WISEstaff application itself. WISEstaff users will be redirected to the contact page upon login until contacts are verified for the year. We cannot ensure communications are sent to the appropriate personnel until these contacts are updated and/or verified.

Administrator tasks for the fall/winter (September - January) period are:

  • By Oct 3: Ensure you or your District Security Administrator review staff access to WISEstaff in WISEsecure, especially if there have been changes in personnel or duties. DPI recommends that administrators, business office staff, and state reporting staff have access to both WISEid and WISEstaff.
  • By Oct 3: Review the WISEstaff Data Collection Timeline and ensure staff who are responsible for reporting data are aware of user group calls and deadlines. The full timeline is available on the WISEstaff Data Collection: Reporting Information page. Dates for upcoming User Group calls and other events are on the WISEdata Events page.
  • By Nov 11: Perform a data quality review within WISEstaff using the Data Quality Dashboard to compare current year staffing totals to previous years.
  • By Jan 30: Follow up with staff who are missing Entity IDs to ensure they have submitted their license applications.

Additional tasks starting in January can be found in the WISEstaff Reference Guide for Administrators.

A communication was sent to the current WISEstaff contacts on file and was posted to WISE Community | WISEstaff. Please direct any personnel responsible for WISEstaff to the WISEstaff channel in Teams.
